Decent hotel in a good location with plenty of shops and places to eat a short walk away. The hotel is only a 20-25 minute drive from the lakes itself. Clean room and good breakfast. Only down fall was very poor wifi.
Rooms are lovely, clean and great size. Their employees are lovely. Would definitely come back here again.
This place is lucky to obtain a 1 star review. If I had measured the place by staff attitude it would obtain a minus score, if one were allowed. The room looks nice and is functional. Our problems started at 3 am, when the Air Con started making a burping noise. I had found it hard to sleep, as the bed was not that comfortable. So at 3 am, we were both awoken by the loud sound and turned off the Air Con. It was winter, the room became so hot, you could not sleep. Opening the window was not an option, as they are sealed. We had a dreadful night from thereon in. On check-out I complained about the night, only to be met with hostility and a could not care less attitude. It was the same attitude shown on check in. I was told that our lack of sleep was our own fault, as at 3 am we should have called down and moved rooms. On the Premier Inn website and in all the blurb promoting the brand in the room, they tell you to mention problems and issues to their "Friendly staff"....who will do all they can to resolve the situation. In my case he did all he could to blame the customer and walk away from the issue. As a shareholder in Whitbread, I took the complaint to Head Office and it was ONLY resolved by Head Office Customer Service. I am disgusted at how I was treated and will ensure we do not stay there again. There are so many better places to stay in Barrow.....sadly.
Nice hotel. Rooms where lovely and they allowed early check in. However it's in the middle of a shopping estate over looking the nuclear submarine manufacturer!
Nice new hotel with all the modern facilities that you would expect. Beds good. Pub/restaurant next door stopped serving shortly after 11pm which means there is nowhere for residents to get a drink - some may think this a good thing.
